Lift ("we", "our", or "us") is a fitness and nutrition tracking app built for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Lift, how we use it, and how we protect it.
By using Lift, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties — ever.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve Lift's features.
Account Information
- Email address and password (used for authentication)
- Display name and profile photo (if you choose to add one)
- Username and bio
Fitness & Nutrition Data
- Workout sessions including exercises, sets, reps, and weights
- Meals and nutrition logs (calories, protein, carbs, fats)
- Daily calorie and macro goals
- Body measurements and health metrics you manually enter
Social & Community Data
- Profile information visible to other users
- Group memberships and group activity
- Live session activity and comments
- Followers and following relationships
Technical Data
- Device type and iOS version (for debugging)
- App crash reports and error logs
- Push notification token (if notifications are enabled)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide core features: workout tracking, nutrition logging, progress history
- Power social features: feeds, profiles, groups, and live sessions
- Calculate and display your rank based on workout activity
- Send push notifications (only if you opt in)
- Verify and manage your Lift Pro subscription via Apple's StoreKit
- Diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
- Respond to support requests you send us
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
Health Data & Apple Health
Lift can optionally read from and write to Apple Health (HealthKit) to sync workout data and health measurements. This is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission.
- Health data is used only to display and sync information within Lift
- We do not share HealthKit data with any third party
- HealthKit data is never used for advertising or sold
- You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings → Health → Apps → Lift
Lift's use of health data complies with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and is limited strictly to app functionality.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
To request deletion, email us at support@liftapp.io with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
Security
We take security seriously. Your data is protected by:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Secure authentication managed by Supabase Auth
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
- Row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@liftapp.io.
Children's Privacy
Lift is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct — update inaccurate information via your Profile settings
- Delete — request permanent deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent — revoke Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings
- Opt out of notifications — disable push notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Lift

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email.
Continued use of Lift after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
