Getting Started

The basics of creating and managing your countdowns.

How do I create a countdown?

Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the main screen. Enter a title, choose a date (and time, if you'd like), then pick a color and icon to personalize it. Tap save and your countdown appears in your list.

What's the difference between the Future and Past tabs?

The Future tab shows events that haven't happened yet, counting down the time remaining. Once an event's date passes, it automatically moves to the Past tab, where it counts up the time since it happened.

How do I edit or delete a countdown?

Tap any countdown to open its detail view. Use the Edit button at the top to change its details, or scroll down and tap Delete Event to remove it permanently.

How do I search for an event?

Tap the magnifying glass icon in the top-left of the main screen to open the search bar, then type any part of an event's title or subtitle. Tap the X button to close search.

Countdown Pro & Subscriptions

Everything about premium features, billing, and restoring purchases.

What's included in Countdown Pro?

Countdown Pro unlocks pinned (featured) events, custom folders to organize your countdowns, live count-up timers, premium colors and icons, and alternate app icons.

What subscription options are available?

Countdown Pro is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription (best value), or a one-time lifetime purchase. You can choose whichever suits you best on the upgrade screen.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by the App Store. On your device, open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, select Countdown, and choose to change or cancel. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which the app returns to the free version automatically.

I already paid — how do I restore my purchase?

Open the upgrade screen in the app and tap Restore Purchase at the bottom. This re-checks your App Store account and reactivates Pro on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.

What happens to my events if my subscription ends?

Nothing is lost. Your existing events — including pinned events, custom folders, and any premium colors or icons you've already applied — stay exactly as they are. You simply won't be able to create new Pro items until you subscribe again.

Data & Privacy

How your information is stored and how to manage it.

Where is my data stored?

All of your events and settings are stored locally on your device. Countdown does not upload your event data to any external server.

How do I delete all my data?

Open Settings in the app and tap Delete Account & Wipe Data. This permanently removes all of your events and settings from the device and cannot be undone. Deleting the app from your device also removes all stored data.

Do I need an account to use Countdown?

No. Countdown works fully offline with no sign-up required. Everything stays on your device.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for common issues.

My notifications aren't appearing

Make sure notifications are enabled for Countdown in your device's Settings > Notifications. Also check that the event has an alert set in its details.

A premium feature is still locked after subscribing

Try tapping Restore Purchase on the upgrade screen, then fully close and reopen the app. If it's still locked, make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID used for the purchase, and contact us if the issue continues.

The app feels slow or unresponsive

Closing and reopening the app usually resolves temporary slowdowns. If the problem persists, make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS and that Countdown is updated to the newest version.
