Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information the Countdown app ("the app", "we", "us") does and does not collect, and how your data is handled.
In short: Countdown stores everything on your device. We do not run servers that collect your data, we don't require an account, and we don't sell or share your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Countdown does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on any external server. The app does not require you to create an account or sign in.
The events you create — including titles, dates, notes, colors, and icons — are stored locally on your device only, using the device's standard local storage. This information never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up through your own iCloud or device backup.
2. Local Data Storage
All app data is saved on your device. Because nothing is uploaded to us:
- We cannot see, access, or recover your events.
- Deleting the app, or using "Delete Account & Wipe Data" in Settings, permanently removes this data from your device.
3. Purchases and Subscriptions
Countdown offers an optional premium upgrade ("Countdown Pro") through Apple's in-app purchase system. All payments and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple.
We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID. Purchase verification is handled securely on-device through Apple's StoreKit. Apple's handling of your purchase information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules local notifications on your device to remind you about your events. These notifications are generated and delivered on your device and are not sent through or stored on any external server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
Countdown does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use any technology that tracks you across other apps or websites.
6. Children's Privacy
Countdown is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data is collected by us, no such information about children is gathered or stored.
7. Data Security
Your data is protected by the security features built into your device and operating system. Since your information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us, it is never exposed to risks associated with server-side storage.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You are always in full control of your data. You can:
- Edit or delete any event at any time within the app.
- Permanently erase all app data using "Delete Account & Wipe Data" in Settings, or by deleting the app.
- Manage notification and subscription permissions in your device's Settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
